EXCLUSIVE: Life Imitates Comic Book Art in Batman: Creature of the Night

Every Batman fan has dreamed of becoming the Dark Knight—putting on the cowl, firing up the Batmobile and heading out to take on the Joker. However, we’d imagine that very few of them have dreamed about being Bruce Wayne as a child. While having your own Batcave and hanging with the Justice League would be fun, the important tragedy it took for Bruce Wayne to get there is often overlooked.

Angels in the Batcave: James Tynion IV on Azrael, Anarky and Bringing Back Tim Drake

To say that Jean-Paul Valley’s life has been turned upside over the past year is putting it mildly, as anyone who’s been reading DETECTIVE COMICS knows. A newly minted member of Batman’s team, Azrael has found himself questioning his beliefs, and then questioning them again, even as he’s forged a particularly close friendship with Luke Fox.

Batman and Harley Quinn (2017)

Spawned from an original story by animation icon Bruce Timm, Batman and Harley Quinn brings legendary voice actor Kevin Conroy back to his most famous role. Poison Ivy and Jason Woodrue (a.k.a. The Floronic Man) embark on an ecological quest to save the planet—and, unfortunately, eliminate most of humankind along the way. To save humanity, Batman and Nightwing are forced to enlist Harley Quinn to catch Poison Ivy, Harley’s BFF and frequent partner-in-crime. But Batman’s patience is put to the test by the unpredictable and untrustworthy Harley during the twists and turns the reluctant companions face during their bumpy road trip. The result is a thrill ride of action, adventure and comedy no Batman fan has seen before.

The Death and Return of Superman Gets a Two-Part Animated Movie

It’s one of the most popular and powerful Superman stories ever told, but it’s such an epic tale that it can’t be faithfully told over a single film. So when Warner Bros. Animation, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment adapt the famous story of the death and return of the Man of Steel just in time for its 25th Anniversary, it’ll be as two separate feature-length animated movies.
