Three of Batman's Best Gifts

To me, one of the most interesting things about Batman is how he’s managed to go through so many different incarnations—from a campy live action TV Adam West, to an animated Bruce Timm iteration, to an older post-retirement Frank Miller version—and rather than turning us off or getting fans upset, we’ve embraced so many of them. As a character he’s just so malleable. He has no powers, so anyone could be under that cape and cowl and give him a new vibe.

Batman: The Animated Series Action Figures – A First Look at Two-Face and Mr. Freeze

Earlier this year, DC Collectibles announced that they would be releasing a new line of action figures based on the highly influential and almost universally beloved Batman: The Animated Series. Fans were excited, and so were we. In fact, after we heard the news, we held an entire weeklong event here on DCComics.com to celebrate the series.

First Look: BATMAN: DEATH OF THE FAMILY BOOK AND THE JOKER MASK SET!

Every legendary hero has an opposite number. The other side of the coin. The darkness to their light. These reflections of evil, death and menace bring out the best in our champions – if they can survive the experience.

But none compare to The Joker – the deadliest, most frightening villain ever to grace the comic book page and the bloodthirsty, grinning psychopath who, in his horrifying return to Gotham City, sported a new, disturbing visage: his own face!

Batman Eternal: An Interview with James Tynion IV

We’re celebrating Batman’s 75th Anniversary all year long, but look for things to shift into a new gear next week with the release of Batman Eternal #1, the first issue of the brand new weekly comic series focused on the Dark Knight and his friends and foes in Gotham. As you can imagine, it’s not easy producing a weekly comic book series, and the challenge is even greater when the series stars one of the most popular super heroes ever created.
