‘Batman: Arkham Knight,’ ‘Arrow,’ ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ Take Center Stage with an Array of New Product Offerings
Tomorrow, we’ll unite as a nation to celebrate our great country’s birth by lighting off fireworks, firing up our barbecues and doing other things that the fire department would probably prefer if we didn’t. We’ll sing our national anthem loudly, fly our flags proudly and end the day feeling…um, wowedly?
Welcome back to DCU, students. Our summer term is now in session. As you may recall, last semester Professor Bruce Wayne taught us all about the anatomy of action figures, covering the four common action figure joints and illustrating where each one could be found by way of a handy, beautifully designed chart.
Holy Collectible Close-Up, Batman!
Most of us study human anatomy in high school or college. We learn about bones, muscles and tendons, which are the three building blocks of most joints.
Well, a good action figure has plenty of joints as well, and they’re worth knowing if you’re a collector. Fortunately, unlike human joints, which have names like acromioclavicular and carpometacarpal, our joints don’t sound like the sort of words Harry Potter and Voldemort might shout out while shooting their wands at each other. They have much simpler names, but they can do almost as much.
If you've ever come to visit us at SDCC, NYCC or another one of our many conventions, you’ve likely noticed how we always have plenty of great DC Collectibles statues and action figures on display. We’ve been doing this for years, and over that period we’ve noticed how much time fans spend looking at our new collectibles, particularly the statues, making sure they take enough time to examine all of the texture and detail. This isn’t really surprising. Unless you happen to see one of our statues on display, it’s sometimes hard to gauge its level of intricacy.
DC All Access is back, and it’s bigger, better and brickier than ever before!
We’re certainly not ones to dwell in the past, but some weeks are just worth reliving. Especially when they involve new Batman: The Animated Series action figures and giving away a bunch of awesome collectibles.
