Superman vs. Godslayer: Could the Bad Guy be Right?

Some of Superman’s most interesting adversaries throughout the years have been ones who desire to do good, but go about it the wrong way. People call Superman “the big blue boy scout” for a reason—he doesn’t just see that justice is done, he’s also unwavering when it comes to making sure it’s done in a fair and humane way, with respect for life and civil liberties. At times, this has put him at odds with fellow heroes like Batman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman, who sometimes may take a more pragmatic approach to doing what’s right.

Classic Action: Dan Jurgens Returns to Superman in Action Comics

Dan Jurgens has a bit of history with Superman.

Yes, the legendary writer and artist has made many important contributions to the world of comic books throughout his career, but it’s his work on the seminal “Death of Superman” storyline that has proven to be the most influential and widely read. As one of the writers and artists behind that legacy-defining storyline and the author and penciller of its final issue, Jurgens’ work on the character can be felt in nearly every Superman story we’ve seen since.
