It’s always a big week when monthly solicits come out, and this one was no exception. With huge storylines in the works like “Death of the Family” and “Rise of the Third Army,” there’s a lot to anticipate in the months ahead. Of course, there’s a lot to celebrate right now too, including a full slate of Digital First comics, a growing roster of DC COMICS – THE NEW 52 trade collections and the super-powered hilarity of the ROBOT CHICKEN DC COMICS SPECIAL.
Here’s what went down this week on the DC Comics website…

We also ran two different daily spotlights this week. Our first was a fun look at some of our Digital First comics. These are all titles that hit our digital comics store before they land in shops, and if you’ve never read them before, you’re missing out on some great stories featuring your favorite DC characters. Check out our spotlight articles on Ame-Comi Girls, Batman: Arkham Unhinged, Batman Beyond, Legends of the Dark Knight and…Smallville Season 11!
We also highlighted some of our recent DC Comics – The New 52 trade paperbacks by reaching out to the talented creators responsible for them. With all of that going on, THE SOURCE was a pretty active place, and it only got wilder on Wednesday with our new sweepstakes announcement! Think you’re the ultimate DC super fan? Well, one lucky winner is about to walk away with the collection to prove it.
Thursday brought with it the latest edition of 5.2 Reasons, this time focusing on the amazing art and writing of J.H. Williams III. If you only know his work on Batwoman, it’s time to discover all of the other reasons he’s been rocking our world.
Also on Thursday, we announced the September 9th debut of the Robot Chicken DC Comics Special, which features a stop-motion cast of all your favorite DC super heroes and a real-life voice cast that has to be seen to be believed.
And finally, as if that wasn’t enough, we also unveiled another playable character for INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US by way of a wicked new trailer. Curiosity didn’t kill this cat. In fact, she looks feistier than ever!
