Happy Wednesday, folks. Still sipping that cup of coffee? Hoping to get an extra 15 minutes of sleep? Today’s not the day.

BATMAN #13, from the superstar creative team of writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo hits today, and it kicks off “Death of the Family” – a story that’s bound to rest on your shelf next to other Batman classics like THE KILLING JOKE, THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS, JOKER and BATMAN: YEAR ONE. High expectations? Sort of. Wait until you read the issue.

Not only are Snyder and Capullo crafting the seminal Joker story for our time, but they’re doing it with every Bat-Family book chipping in. Joker vs. Damian? Check. Batgirl/Joker rematch? Check. Red Hood faces off against his “murderer”? Check. This is all hands on deck, and while saying “things will never be the same” sounds trite, it’s never been more true. This story has consequences with a capital “C,” and it kicks off today.

You saw the preview on BUZZFEED. You’ve probably read the avalanche of Scott Snyder press already hitting this morning. But we’ve saved one last reveal for you right here, on THE SOURCE. Don’t scroll any further if you haven’t read the issue yet. If you have, be careful anyway…

Meet the Joker.
