Maybe it’s because we’re still coming down from Comic-Con, but this week seemed to pass by in a New York minute. Or maybe it’s because we’re having so much fun figuring out ways to spotlight some of our favorite DC super-villains. You’ve probably noticed our new skin. So what do you think? Those pencils are by the amazing Ryan Sook, and you can look for his inks and colors to show up over the days ahead. As for what other fun villainy goodness we’ll be rolling out this month, you’ll just have to stay tuned.

As for this week, here’s what went down on the DC Comics website…

Let’s start by pointing out a few NYCC announcement that you may have missed. On Saturday, we announced that Paul Pelletier will be diving into Aquaman as the new regular series artist. Then later that same day, we announced Threshold, a brand new DC COMICS – THE NEW 52 ongoing from Keith Giffen and Tom Raney.

You know, there may have been other great DC news coming out of NYCC that you missed. Be sure to check out our NYCC Con Away From Con page for all of our panel recaps and links to the latest videos from the con. Some were added as recently as yesterday!

This Monday, we released our group solicits for January, and it looks like 2013 is getting off to a great start (at least as far as new comics are concerned). Click on the groups below to be taken to their solicit information:

Justice League

Superman

Batman

Green Lantern

The Dark

The Edge

Young Justice

Beyond DC Comics – The New 52

Before Watchmen

Wednesday brought this week’s new comics, but it also brought us a brand new episode of Arrow. We thought it might be fun to commemorate episode two by posting two Arrow videos to come out of NYCC. Well, it turns out that posting them wasn’t very much fun at all…but watching them is a blast. Stephen Amell answered 5.2 Questions for us in between signing autographs for fans of Green Arrow (and fans of great abs). We also posted the very popular Season 1 trailer that was shown during the Arrow panel. Keep your keen eyes open for upcoming adversaries Deathstroke, Huntress and Deadshot!

On the same day, we gave you a chance at winning a Before Watchmen: Minutemen card signed by Darwyn Cooke. And we’re STILL giving you a chance. The contest doesn’t end till Monday!

Wednesday also means something cool from DC Collectibles, and this week we gave you a chance to caption a Halloween scene between John Stewart and Atrocitus. And speaking of DC Collectibles, have you seen the new high-end prints they just added to the DC Collectibles store?

Superman fans will definitely want to read next month’s ACTION COMICS #14 to the very end. That way they don’t miss out on that issue’s important backup story.

It seems like everyone’s interested in Injustice: Gods Among Us these days. And it seems like a lot of folks are all of a sudden interested in Green Arrow. So there were probably quite a lot of people happy when Oliver Queen was unveiled as the most recent Injustice character. Especially since the announcement came with an exciting new trailer.

As we mentioned at the start, October is Villains Month here on DCComics.com, and they’re certainly having their say. In fact, we have a feeling they may be behind this week’s 5.2 Reasons column, which is all about why Superman is a menace.

They’re also running rampant in our character section. Did you see our new pages for Darkseid, Bane, Harley Quinn and the Reverse-Flash?

Cheetah’s the villain in JUSTICE LEAGUE #13, but we were afraid of what she might do to us if we spoiled her highly anticipated storyline, so instead we decided to spotlight that issue’s backup story in today’s This Just Happened.

That’ll just about do it, but we’ll leave you with this action-packed, AWESOME new trailer for Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2, the highly anticipated second part of the animated adaptation of Frank Miller’s graphic novel.

See you in seven!
