This may be the DC Week-In-Review, but since we just wrapped up the first full month of 2013, it’s only natural to take a moment and consider some of the cool stuff we’ve seen since the start of the new year. In the past 31 days, we’ve began rolling out the second wave of DC COMICS – THE NEW 52 trade collection, starting with second volumes of Green Lantern, Animal Man, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow and Justice League. We’ve seen the return of Arrow, and the debut of villains like Firefly and Count Vertigo. We also launched a new DC Comics – The New 52 ongoing, the sci-fi anthology, Threshold. We watched and thrilled to the concluding chapter of the animated adaptation of Frank Miller’s THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS. And finally, we gained a little insight into the dark and compelling story we can expect from the upcoming Injustice: Gods Among Us videogame, both from the debut of the weekly digital first comic and the world premiere of the new trailer. But more on the last part in a moment.

Not bad for a first month, and truly, we’re just warming up. Next week, expect the site to explode with hard-hitting awesomeness! You’re going to want to come back here Monday for the start of something cool.

But enough about next week. Let’s talk about this one. Here’s what went down this week on the DC Comics website…

As we mentioned above, this week saw the release of the eagerly anticipated Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2, the second part of the two-part animated adaptation. We marked the release by debuting two new Joker clips from the film. The first was this exclusive clip of the Joker knocking them dead on The Dave Endochrine Show, while the second gave us glimpse of the final showdown between the Clown Prince of Crime and his nemesis, the Batman.

After reading this week’s SUPERMAN #16 and AQUAMAN #16, we figured you might be hungry for more. Well, we’d hate to ruin your appetite for next month’s comics, but we couldn’t resist whetting your palate with first looks for SUPERMAN #17 and AQUAMAN #17.

Wednesday brought with it the return of Ask DC Collectibles, which this week included questions about Injustice figures, how run numbers are determined and what factors go into deciding which comics and characters get the DC Collectibles treatment.

That same day, we revealed the new WTF Certified logo over at Buzzfeed, while teasing some of what you can expect from your favorite DC comics in April.

However, probably the biggest buzz on Wednesday came from the release of the new Injustice: Gods Among Us trailer. It includes new shots of gameplay, did-you-see-them-or-didn’t-you glimpses of new characters and our first look at the game’s intriguing story.

This week, Ethan Van Sciver took over art duties on Batman: The Dark Knight, and to mark this “madly” momentous occasion, we listed off the 5.2 Reasons we love Mr. Van Sciver and his work.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Friday without another edition of This Just Happened, which we’re more than happy to bring you. However, you probably want to read Superman #16 before you read it…or forever hold your peace.

Finally, in celebration of Black History Month, we’ve discounted some great comics featuring some of your favorite African-American super heroes in the DC Digital Comics Store. We’ll be offering up new discounted titles every week in February, so be sure to check back regularly.

With that, we’ll wrap things up, but remember to check back on Monday as we kick off something fun, and we’ll see you again here in seven with another Week-In-Review!
