It’s tough being the new kid on the block. That’s true whether it’s your first day at a new job, your first time pitching for the local baseball team, or your first time meeting your new neighbors—when you’re literally the new kid on the block. No one likes being the rookie, the freshman, the cub. You feel like you have much to prove, and it seems like everyone’s scrutinizing your every move.

So how must it feel to be Cisco Ramon? Young, inexperienced, trying to make sense of his life and newly acquired powers, and now a part of the newly formed Justice League of America, where he’s expected to be able to take down the Flash. No pressure, guys. Vibe’s comic has proven to be an intriguing companion title to Geoff Johns and David Finch’s Justice League of America in that it gives us the chance to see the team and the events unfolding around it from a different, very relatable point of view. Not many of us know what it’s like to possess top security clearance and head up a team of super-powered agents like Amanda Waller and Steve Trevor, but all of us know what it’s like to feel out of place and overwhelmed, while at the same time excited and wanting to do the best that we can.

Cisco’s story continues this week in JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA’S VIBE #3. However, Vibe isn’t the only JLA member feeling the pressure of their latest gig. In fact, judging by the full cover for this week’s CATWOMAN #19, Selina’s not handling the stress of being a hero well at all.

Of course, Catwoman and Vibe are hardly the only heroes having a rough week. Kyle Rayner continues to struggle with the “Wrath of the First Lantern,” the original Justice League seems to be coming apart at the seams and Diana must deal with more family drama (to put it mildly) and a relationship with Orion that’s getting more complex by the minute. Maybe everyone should take a break and book a nice getaway to Gemworld… Wha-WAIT, Eclipso?!!
