Last week, the talented team behind Scribblenauts Unmasked – A DC Comics Adventure brought us their take on the covers of Batman #1, The New 52’s Justice League #1, Showcase #4 and Batman #251. Well, they’re back with one more image, and (at least if you’re Superman), it’s to die for.

In 1992, DC Comics shocked the world with the classic “Death of Superman” storyline. Written by Dan Jurgens, drawn by Dan Jurgens, Brett Breeding and Glenn Whitmore, and seared into the memory of Superman fans worldwide, the storyline ended in Superman #75 with Superman making the ultimate sacrifice to save Metropolis from the destructive wrath and violence of the monstrous Doomsday.

While you’re likely familiar with the famous cover to this issue, did you also know that the entire issue consists of 22 single panel pages? The result was a dramatic, powerful climax told on an epic scale. For their final image, the Scribblenauts team chose to recreate a classic moment from within the comic.

Um… ouch?

Fortunately, Superman didn’t stay dead. He’s back and bigger than ever, and you can find him—22 different versions of him—in Scribblenauts Unmasked – A DC Comics Adventure. Be sure to pick it up for the Wii U, Nintendo 3DS or PC! Though, please be careful with the Man of Steel. We’d hate for anything to happen to him…again.
