SPOILER ALERT: If you have not read FOREVER EVIL #2  yet and do not wish to know what happens, stop reading this post now (major spoilers ahead!).

So far, what we know about the conclusion of “Trinity War” and the beginning of FOREVER EVIL is that the heroes of the DC Universe are gone. And the Crime Syndicate says they’re dead.

Want to hear it from Batman? Take a look below at the final page of FOREVER EVIL #2 to confirm what the Crime Syndicate told the world: "They didn't make it."

Wait … Batman? That’s right, Batman’s alive! But where’s the rest of the Justice League? Who’s next to step into the void left by Superman, Wonder Woman, and the others? Do the Teen Titans have the muscle? Superboy, Red Robin, and Wonder Girl are all up for the challenge. But will they have any chance against Ultraman, Owlman and Superwoman? Spoiler: No.

“Introducing the Crime Syndicate is an opportunity to create villains who, because they come from a place where their brains are just wired differently, the culture’s different, and there’s no level of compassion,” writer Geoff Johns recently told BUZZFEED. “Strength is valued over anything else. These guys all think very, very differently than we do, so it’s an opportunity to really go to the core of villain and make them truly reprehensible and evil.”

For more from Johns about FOREVER EVIL, check out some additional interviews that ran with the writer this week in THE LOS ANGELES TIMES’ HERO COMPLEX, GAMMA SQUAD, and COMICS ALLIANCE.

Written by Geoff Johns and illustrated by David Finch, Richard Friend and Sonia Oback, FOREVER EVIL #2 is available in stores now.
