It’s a huge day for Batman fans. First, we’re treated to a phenomenal new trailer for the next Arkham game, Batman: Arkham Knight, and now we’ve just learned who will be playing the man destined to become Batman on Fox’s Gotham.

Young David Mazouz (Touch) has been cast in the key role of Bruce Wayne. As fans know, Gotham is set well before Wayne dons the cowl, hence the young actor. Described as “serious and soulful,” Bruce Wayne will need to rely on the guidance and protection of Alfred Pennyworth and Detective James Gordon after the tragic death of his parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne.

Also announced today was the casting of Selina Kyle. Relative newcomer Camren Bicondova will play a young version of the cat-loving character, also well before her whip-and-catsuit days. Gotham’s Selina Kyle is a teenage orphan who is suspicious and wholly unpredictable. She's a street thief and skilled pickpocket who is dangerous when cornered.

Mazouz and Bicondova join previously announced cast members Ben McKenzie (as James Gordon), Robin Lord Taylor (as Oswald Cobblepot), Jada Pinkett Smith (as Fish Mooney), Donal Logue (as Harvey Bullock), Sean Pertwee (as Alfred Pennyworth), Zabryna Guevara (as Captain Essen) and Erin Richards (as Barbara Kean).

More to come…
