If you were fearing that it’s all downhill for Superman comics after last week’s SUPERMAN #32, you may be living in the Bizarro world. That’s about the only explanation that makes sense when you look at some of the phenomenal books featuring the Man of Steel hitting the stands this week.

To start, there’s the eagerly awaited SUPERMAN UNCHAINED #7 by Scott Snyder and Jim Lee. When last we left this epic tale, things between Superman and Wraith had boiled over, leading to a confrontation in which the Man of Steel has no chance of winning on his own. Good thing he has Wonder Woman and Batman on speed dial, then.

Also out this week is ACTION COMICS #33, featuring the continuation of “Superman: Doomed.” And never has the title of this impactful storyline seemed as relevant as it does this week. The Doomsday virus has finally swallowed Superman’s humanity, leaving him a raging, undefeatable machine of destruction, and leaving all of the rest of us…well, doomed. Action Comics #33 comes to us care of Greg Pak and Aaron Kuder.

Finally, let’s not overlook the refreshingly unique takes on the Man of Steel to be found in the pages of Tom Taylor and Nicola Scott’s Earth 2. There’s the corrupt, evil Kal-El and the heroic Val-Zod, who rises up to confront his dark doppelganger in this week’s EARTH 2 #25. Tom gave us the goods on these two characters in a recent DC All Access clip that also featured the cover art by Andy Kubert and Alex Sinclair—a suitably iconic image of a newly crowned hero.

All this, plus new issues of Batman/Superman (also featuring the Man of Steel), Swamp Thing, Tiny Titans: Return to the Treehouse, Aquaman and the Others, Batman Eternal, Green Lantern and much more! Check out previews of all these great comics below…
