Quentin, we hardly knew ya.

Dr. Martin Stein, in his Firestorm guise, goes to visit his colleague Quentin Quale.  In the DC Universe, Quale was his boss, and the project manager for the events which eventually led to the creation of Firestorm.  In an episode that’s all about one character’s duality, there’s an interesting bit of trivia—did you know that there is an old Warner Bros.  Merrie Melodies character known as Quentin Quail from 1946?  As far as we know those characters are not sharing a brain or a body.

Take the Concordance Research tour.

Where did Martin Stein develop the F.I.R.E.S.T.O.R.M. project?  At this research facility.  Where did things go wrong?  S.T.A.R. labs, of course.  Find out more about Firestorm in this terrific graphic novel.

Jazz musician Mal Duncan?

That reference almost shot by as fast as The Flash!  Barry mentions the musician briefly to Linda.  Why does it matter?  Because Mal Duncan is also known in the DCU as Vox—one of DC Comics’ first African-American superheroes.  Hope we get to hear some of his hits one of these days.  And we’re not talking about music!

Catch the news?

Yes, that was Channel 52 news broadcasting the Firestorm event.  We love a good 52 shout-out as much as you do.  And speaking of shout-outs—let’s hear it for another appearance of Big Belly Burger.  When are they going to open one in our neighborhood?

Think we missed any secrets or that maybe we're holding out on you?  Let us hear about it in the comments section!
