DC Collectibles 101: Who Says Size Doesn't Matter?

DC Collectibles makes their action figures at two scales: 6-inch and 6.75 inch. So what's in three quarters of an inch? More than you would suspect, actually...

Happy Friday, DC Collectors! We’ve been getting quite a few questions lately about the scale of our action figures. Seems like when we announced that our new Icons line of action figures will be at a 6-inch scale, more than a few of you worried that it meant we were doing away with our larger 6.75-inch figures.

Well, rest assured that nothing could be further from the truth. We still have plenty of 6.75-inch figures in the pipeline. Of course, that begs the question, why are some lines produced at a smaller scale? And is there a difference between our 6-inch figures and our 6.75-inch ones, other than a few fraction of an inch?

We tend to use our larger figures for our lines based on specific artists, TV shows and games because the larger scale allows us to really show off the details. You can get a much better sense of the actor’s likeness or the intricacies of your favorite comic artist’s work when it’s at a larger scale. That’s why our Arkham, Arrow/Flash and Designer lines are all at 6.75. However, with the 6-inch line, we’re able to pack in a lot more accessories and articulation. It’s why our Batman: The Animated Series line and our new Icons line come packaged with plenty of goodies.

We prepared the above two charts to help illustrate the difference. So let’s not squabble over a few inches. Whether you’re talking 6 or 6.75, you know that our little action figures are going to make a big impression.
