By Alex Nagorski Monday, February 18th, 2013

Welcome back for another installment of Preview Monday! This week we’re giving you exclusive first looks at GREEN LANTERN: NEW GUARDIANS #17 and HELLBLAZER #300.

The threat that first led to the formation of the Guardians of the Universe is back and he’s set his sights on the biggest and brightest of the Corps! Spinning out of the conclusion of “Rise of the Third Army,” the First Lantern has returned to tear apart the lives of each and every Lantern in “Wrath of the First Lantern.” Following the events of GREEN LANTERN #17 and GREEN LANTERN CORPS #17, “Wrath of the First Lantern: Part Three” sees the First Lantern target his next victim: Kyle Rayner. After mastering the emotional spectrum and harnessing the powers of the White Lantern, Kyle seems unstoppable. But will he be strong enough to fight back when the First Lantern dissects his memories and feeds off his emotions? Find out in GREEN LANTERN: NEW GUARDIANS #17, in stores this Wednesday, written by Tony Bedard and illustrated by Aaron Kuder. Click here for an exclusive preview of the issue.

Also this week, HELLBLAZER, Vertigo’s longest-running series starring the one and only fan-favorite chain smoking British antihero, John Constantine, will conclude with issue #300. Over the past 25 years, Constantine has escaped, cheated, narrowly avoided and even reversed death on multiple occasions. Now, this chapter of his story comes to a heartbreaking end as longtime writer Peter Milligan and artists Giuseppe Camuncoli and Stefano Landini give him the bloody best sendoff he deserves in the conclusion of “Death and Cigarettes.” Does this old boy have one more second chance at life in him? Find out in the monumental HELLBLAZER #300, in stores this Wednesday! Click here for an exclusive preview of the double-sized issue. And be sure to catch the new adventures of John Constantine when the ongoing series CONSTANTINE launches in DC COMICS-THE NEW 52 next month!
