Before we say anything else, we want to extend a warm Happy Thanksgiving to all of our readers out there! We hope your day is filled with delicious turkey, tofurkey, turducken, deep-fried goodness, cranberry sauce, gooey gravy, mashed potatoes... sensational stuffing... candied yams, pumpkin pie... Sweet Mary Marvel, we're hungry... Uh, what were we talking about?
Oh, right! Happy Thanksgiving! While you're recovering from your inevitable food coma, we wanted to take a moment to express our thanks—especially to you guys. Which is why this week, we're doing a something a little different with this column and shining the spotlight not on the stuff we’ve been doing, but on you and some of the stuff you’ve done. This week, we’re giving you the 5.2 Reasons We Love Our Fans!
1. We Literally Wouldn't Exist Without You
Seriously, you hear this all the time, but without the fans, we wouldn't be here. Your devotion, love of our characters, and willingness to spend your hard-earned cash on our comics are what keep us alive and kicking. You guys are our lifeblood. So thank you for being so great, so supportive and so willing to share your love of these characters with each other and new readers.
2. You Help Make Our Stories Better
A lot goes into preparing a perfect Thanksgiving dinner. You want to make sure that everything is going to taste great so that your guests are pleased with the insane amount of deliciousness and stuffed so full they can't move. It's the same way with us and our fans. We're constantly trying to provide our fans with the best by creating the most exciting and most innovative stories we can—and then we try to do it all again. You're pushing us up, up, and away on the scale of creativity.
3. Cosplay!
Alright, enough sappiness. Another reason we love you guys? The cosplay. Just... wow. The time, effort and awesomeness you guys put into your costumes is simply astounding. At every convention we go to, we see fans dressed as our characters and we love it. 4. Fan Art!
We especially want to give a special thanks to all of our younger fans, many of whom have been submitting their fantastic fan art as part of our FanMail pages in our All-Ages titles. These up-and-coming future comic book legends have made us go "Awww" so many times it's driven us into fits of kitten cuddling. Their phenomenal work appeared regularly TINY TITANS and can now be seen monthly in both GREEN LANTERN: THE ANIMATED SERIES and SUPERMAN FAMILY ADVENTURES. Check out some amazing examples below!
5. Showing Your Love
Sometimes actions speak louder than words, and if that's the case, you're practically screaming your love from the rooftops and it makes us feel undeniably appreciated and loved. Everywhere we look, you guys are showing us how much you enjoy our comics and character—whether through art, videos on the Interwebs, or just swinging by at conventions for signings, the time and dedication you guys put forth is simply astounding.
