Take a fun concept, add a good deal of hard work and patience, and mix it up with a healthy heap of imagination and what do you get? Well, you just might wind up with “LEGO Batman – Just My Imagination,” the stop-motion animated video that recently won the LEGO DC Super Heroes Contest.

The video was created by the Glasure family from Florida, and was selected from thousands of entries as the grand prize winner by LEGO and Warner Bros. As the contest winners, the Glasures received a paid trip out to California, where they were given a VIP Studio Tour around the WB lot, had lunch at the star-studded WB Commissary, received an escorted tour of WB Animation and even got to watch a voice over recording for an animated show. After that, we played host to the Glasure family for an afternoon as they toured the DC Entertainment office in Burbank, which proved to be a real highlight for the family and provided plenty of great photo ops, like the one above. The Glasures then wrapped up their trip by heading to Carlsbad for a day at LEGOLAND California.

The LEGO DC Super Heroes Contest was introduced last year at San Diego Comic-Con. Contestants were asked to get creative and make a live-action or stop-motion video, build a scene with LEGO bricks, take a photo or draw a picture featuring their favorite DC Super Heroes. Picking a winner was tough, but the whimsy, humor and message of the Glasures’ video won the judges over.
