2019 marks the Year of the Villain, as Lex Luthor leads an upgraded onslaught of assembled antagonists in a war to reshape the DC Universe!

This summer, Lex Luthor makes being bad look very, very good.

After forming a new Legion of Doom in writer Scott Snyder and artist Jorge Jimenez's twice-monthly JUSTICE LEAGUE, Lex became obsessed with an ancient god named Perpetua, and embarked on a quest to tilt Earth away from justice and heroes and toward evil and doom instead.

But Luthor's quest to elevate the DC Universe's biggest villains is only one part of a larger evil tapestry that envelops the World's Greatest Super Heroes.

In June, longtime collaborators Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev launched the six-issue EVENT LEVIATHAN miniseries. Spinning out of ACTION COMICS, this high-octane title sees the secretive, evil organization known as Leviathan begin to enact a conspiracy that threatens the very foundations of the DC Universe.

Writer Tom King and artist Tony S. Daniel shepherd to Gotham City the return of the man who broke the Dark Knight in BATMAN #75, as the "City of Bane" story begins this month.

Plus, a new BATMAN/SUPERMAN title from writer Joshua Williamson and superstar artist David Marquez launches in August, as the iconic heroes try to stop the Batman Who Laughs' plan to infect and turn the world's most powerful heroes into dark, twisted versions of themselves.

Blessed with new powers, resources and allies, the dark side of the DCU begins making its moves...

NO LAUGHING MATTER

"Trust no one" may the standard operation procedure for the Dark Knight, but it's new territory for the Man of Steel when the two reunite in this month's BATMAN/SUPERMAN series.

While the eyes of the world will be on Lex Luthor and his Legion of Doom, there's an equally deadly plot unfolding in this new World's Finest series from writer Joshua Williamson and artist David Marquez: the Batman Who Laughs -- the twisted amalgam of Bruce Wayne and The Joker from DARK NIGHTS: METAL -- operates in the shadows, corrupting both the heroic peers of the Justice League and the civilian allies the heroes hold most dear.

Only the World's Greatest Detective and the Last Son of Krypton can solve this puzzler, but clues are scarce, and the only people they can trust is each other -- but for how long?
