This all-new animated series from Warner Bros. Animation and Blue Ribbon Content follows DC’s popular comic book character John Constantine (voiced by the live action series star Matt Ryan), a seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult. Armed with an arcane knowledge of the dark arts and a wicked wit, he fights the good fight. With his soul already damned to hell, he’ll do whatever it takes to protect the innocent. With the balance of good and evil on the line, Constantine uses his skills to face the supernatural terrors that threaten our world and send them back where they belong.
All his life, Ray Terrill (Russell Tovey, Quantico, Looking) has fought injustice, dreaming of making a real difference like his older brother, a Marine who was killed in Afghanistan. One day, he stumbles upon a dying superhero from another Earth and is stunned to find that this superhero looks just like him—because it is! The dying Ray Terrill of Earth-X transfers photokinetic energy to this Earth’s Ray, making him a superhero—THE RAY. However, Ray quickly learns being a superhero isn’t all hanging muggers from streetlamps and fighting giant robots.
Catching the Comic-Con crowd by surprise, producers of FREEDOM FIGHTERS: THE RAY unveiled the first look at footage from CW Seed’s newest, animated DC Super Hero series, the first Super Hero show to feature a gay character in a title role. The reel was full of familiar faces, including evil alternate versions of Green Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl, as they battled title character Ray “The Ray” Terrill and his team of heroes.
Originally from Africa, Mari McCabe grew up an orphan after her parents were killed by local greed, corruption and wanton violence. But Mari refuses to succumb to the terrors surrounding her. Inheriting her family's Tantu Totem, Mari can access the powers of animals – anything from the strength of a gorilla to the speed of a cheetah. As Vixen, she fights valiantly to protect the world from threats like those that claimed her family.
Surprising fans for the second year in a row, Vixen closed out the Arrow Comic-Con 2016 panel on Saturday, July 23, with an animated Season 2 sneak peek, highlighted by guest appearances from The Flash, Firestorm and Weather Wizard. Vixen returns with all-new episodes this fall, only on CW Seed.
