A Shining Start to Freedom Fighters: The Ray

If you follow me as a part of the #DCTV Couch Club, you might remember that I elected to rant and rave about how awesome I thought Ray Terrill (as played by Russell Tovey) was when we met him and his boyfriend Leo Snart kicking butt as members of the Freedom Fighters on Earth-X.

Freedom Fighters: The Ray (2017 - Present)

All his life, Ray Terrill (Russell Tovey, Quantico, Looking) has fought injustice, dreaming of making a real difference like his older brother, a Marine who was killed in Afghanistan. One day, he stumbles upon a dying superhero from another Earth and is stunned to find that this superhero looks just like him—because it is! The dying Ray Terrill of Earth-X transfers photokinetic energy to this Earth’s Ray, making him a superhero—THE RAY. However, Ray quickly learns being a superhero isn’t all hanging muggers from streetlamps and fighting giant robots. As the evil Nazi New Reichsman of Earth-X, led by Overgirl, close in, The Ray must learn to harness his powers by coming to terms with his true self, even if that means also finally coming out of the closet to his parents. The fate of Earth-X depends on it! Based on the characters from DC, Freedom Fighters: The Ray is from Blue Ribbon Content and Warner Bros. Animation, with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Sam Register.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow: The Sweet and Bitter End

All right Legends fans, you made it. You're completely through this year's four-part crossover event…or, at least you should be. If you missed Supergirl, Arrow or The Flash this week, maybe wait to read this post! Legends was the finale of the event, so all spoilers are fair game here.

Sound good? Do I need to place a SPOILER ALERT bolded, underlined and in all caps here? No?

Great! Let's go.

The Flash: A Ray of Sunshine

I don’t know about you, readers, but I have been having an absolute blast watching this year’s “Crisis on Earth-X” four-part crossover event! I was a big fan of last year’s “Invasion” crossover, but thought it would be a huge bar for the teams behind these shows to have to clear. First, let’s acknowledge how awesome it’s been having all four shows completely involved in the quest to punch Nazis.

Freedom Fighters: The Ray - Comic-Con 2017 Sneak Peek

Catching the Comic-Con crowd by surprise, producers of FREEDOM FIGHTERS: THE RAY unveiled the first look at footage from CW Seed’s newest, animated DC Super Hero series, the first Super Hero show to feature a gay character in a title role. The reel was full of familiar faces, including evil alternate versions of Green Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl, as they battled title character Ray “The Ray” Terrill and his team of heroes.
