“George Perez would like to draw a story for Wonder Woman #600, and he wants you to write it.” What? George Perez what? He wants WHO to write it? I’ve had some amazing experiences as a writer in the time I’ve been at DC Comics, but every comic writer will tell you there’re few things as thrilling as working with an artist you’ve adored for years. Every assignment is special and important, but writing JLA for Jose Garcia Lopez, writing Superman for John Byrne, or writing a Black Canary story for Michael Golden, well, those are moments a writer lives for.
Have you been reading SECRET SIX? If not, for shame. This issue, #22, marks the finale of the latest Gail Simone/J. Calafiore collabo, and it shows fan-favorite Catman going postal on all those that have made his nine lives difficult. Will the other members of the Six bail just when Catman needs a hand? Is one of the team quitting for good? Anything’s possible. SECRET SIX #22 hits 6/9, and keep your eyes on The Source for more info on the next SECRET SIX arc, won’t you? [gallery link="file"]
Writer Brian Truitt connects with BIRDS OF PREY writer Gail Simone to talk about the new series and what she has planned for the book, reuniting with artist Ed Benes and why fans connect to the series.
This isn't just a Catman story; it's THE Catman story, as Thomas Blake continues his bloody trail of vengeance tracking the man who took away the only thing he ever cared about. This issue’s definitely not for the faint of heart, as writer Gail Simone and artist Jim Calafiore pull out all the stops. SECRET SIX #21 hits 5/5. [gallery link="file"]
Last week we showed you pages from Cliff Chiang and JMS's touching issue of THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD and earlier this week we showed off some pencils and inks from the story. But did you also know Cliff was handling variant cover duties on the first issue of BIRDS OF PREY? And, coincidentally, we've got the cover right here.
