Alright, Legends fans, I know I say this a lot, but there was SO MUCH going on this week. I feel like it may have actually set some sort of Legends of Tomorrow record for the amount of plots intersecting all at once. From Obama to Lord of the Rings (?!) to Amaya in Zambezi to the Darhks to Ava and Rip. Phew!
And with only one more episode left in this season, I don't think things are in any danger of slowing down now. So, with that in mind, let's break this one down piece by piece, starting from the beginning.
Okay, here's the thing: I love Mick Rory. I feel like I haven't gotten to talk much about him this season, but he's basically my favorite Legend—maybe even my favorite #DCTV character as a whole. I also love military history. Vietnam and WWII, specifically. So, you can probably imagine my delight with…well, all of this.
Have you ever had a surprise party thrown for you? Or been given a sudden, unexpected gift. This episode kind of felt like that. Except with more flamethrowers and a giant, telepathic gorilla.
...You know, the usual.
Gorilla Grodd has been the monkey on Barry Allen’s back for three seasons now and in tonight’s episode, “Attack on Central City,” he really ups the ante to a whole new level. It’s, frankly, just really impressive that he was able to muster up an army and get them all the way over to Earth-1 from Earth-2, keep them organized and send them all against Team Flash.
The Flash continues to amaze. In a season which has already introduced us to most of the Rogues, the Reverse-Flash and a pretty phenomenal Firestorm, the hit series is going where even the biggest fans wondered if it would go and introducing the classic Flash villain Gorilla Grodd.
But if you expected campiness or quirk, think again. The Flash’s take on the psychically powerful primate is outright terrifying, as you can see in this intense new clip from tomorrow night’s episode, “Grodd Lives.”
