The latest arc by the creative team of writer Chris Yost and artist Marcus To races to its conclusion as Ra’s al Ghul’s endgame for Time Drake begins. The Men of Death are on the move in Gotham, and Red Robin, Batgirl and Prudence are out to stop them from killing everyone close to Bruce Wayne. But before our hero can face off against Ra’s, he has to throw down against a few familiar faces. RED ROBIN #11 hits tomorrow. [gallery link="file"]
Tim Drake's had a rough year, to say the least. Struggling with a new identity, searching for the mentor only he believes is actually alive and tangled up with Ra's Al Ghul and his deadly League of Assassins -- not exactly a recipe for long-term health, y'know? Well, things aren't going to get any easier. Starting with June's RED ROBIN #13, writer Fabian Nicieza will step in as the new regular writer, joining series artist Marcus To for what will certainly prove to be an extension of the wild ride Red Robin's been on so far.
Writer Bryan Q. Miller and artist Talent Caldwell kick off a crossover with RED ROBIN, as Tim Drake returns to Gotham Cit. But who does he find in the Batcave? None other than Stephanie Brown, the new Batgirl. And when Ra's al Ghul attacks one of Batman's closest allies, Red Robin and Batgirl will have to put the past aside to save Leslie Thompkins's life. Continued in Red Robin #10. BATGIRL #8 hits 3/10. [gallery link="file"]
We're in a giving mood here at The Source today. Since Batman Group Editor Michael Marts was kind enough to shoot over a look at some of the upcoming March Batman covers, we didn't want to make you guys wait until the solicited covers hit on Monday afternoon. So, here for your mid-week enjoyment are the covers to March's issues of BATMAN, RED ROBIN and AZRAEL. [gallery link="file"]
Well, a ton, dear Source reader. Too much to capably sum up in one blog post. It's also way too early to give too much away. But, we can showcase some of the lovely artwork gracing the covers of the Bat-titles hitting in February, featuring the talents of Frank Quitely, Dustin Nguyen, Phil Noto and many more. So, take another bite of your lunch and look 'em over. [gallery link="file" columns="2"]
The headline says it all. RED ROBIN writer Chris Yost was kind enough to pop by The Source and give us the reasons why you guys should save a spot for the latest issue of the series tomorrow. Take it away, Chris: 10. Superstar artist Marcus To joins the team with this issue! 9. Marcus To's rendition of Red Robin leading a gang of ninjas into battle. 8. Marcus To's rendition of ninjas dying horrible deaths at the hands of Recluse, a member of the Council of Spiders (the same people that are hunting the League of Assassins for sport).
In the spirit of my favorite time of the year…here are a few things that scare me. THE FLAMINGO. This guy has death and danger written all over him. He rides a motorcycle and rips people’s faces off for fun. Oh yeah, and to top it all off, he’s dressed head-to-toe in pink. What’s not to be afraid of? If Batman & Robin thought they had their hands full with Red Hood & Scarlet, well, they haven’t seen anything yet. Check out the Flamingo in all of his pink and face-ripping glory in BATMAN & ROBIN #6.
Damian behind bars? Red Robin surrounded? Batman facing off against two new foes? This batch of covers, featuring the artistic stylings of J.H. Williams III, Tony Daniel, Dustin Nguyen and Marcus To, is light on answers but big on questions. But isn't that what they're for? Take a few minutes from your day and peruse the January covers for BATMAN: STREETS OF GOTHAM, DETECTIVE COMICS, BATMAN and RED ROBIN, won't you? [gallery link="file"]
