Supergirl: Comings and Goings

Hey there, Supergirl fans! It's Meg again, back this week to take a look at some of the introductions (and reintroductions) that happened tonight because, man oh man, that was kind of a lot to take in, right? I mean, Mon-El's return, time travel, marriage, Imra, and Reign? All in one go?

Supergirl: That Weird Guy, Kenny

I’m the Couch Clubbin’, #DCTV blog writin’, occasional Supergirl coverin’, son of a gun who’s back for another episode! WOO!

Now that I cut my Ric Flair-esque promo, let’s get down to the business at hand. Tonight’s episode was…interesting.

Let me start out by saying that I liked the overall theme of the episode—showing how certain events caused Kara and Alex to put their sibling tensions aside and eventually come together and start laying down the foundation of a strong bond. But the events that ultimately brought them together?

Supergirl: Edge You Out

It’s the #DCTV Couch Club Arrow writer swinging by the Supergirl universe again. I covered an episode of Supergirl earlier this season and was asked to check out tonight’s and jot down my thoughts.

Since I don’t watch the show regularly, I got lucky last time with an episode that was a nice little contained story with Supergirl battling and defeating the bank-robbing villain, Psi.

This week was a little different…

Supergirl: The Cult of Supergirl

When Supergirl first debuted only three short years ago, it was a massive deal. To have the Girl of Steel be the debut female-led live action show under the #DCTV umbrella sounded across the zeitgeist in a way that heralded not only how remarkable a character Kara Zor-El is, but how much her type of story was needed in our mass-media marketplace. A couple short years later, Wonder Woman echoed this impact cinematically. In a lot of ways, Supergirl’s status as an icon rose to a new level with the debut of her television show.

First Look: The Rise of Supergirl's Reign

Black is definitely her color.

Word broke this summer that acclaimed TV actress Odette Annable had been cast on Supergirl in the role of Reign—the show’s primary antagonist this season. However, so far, Annable’s character has been a lot more motherly than menacing.

Until now, that is. We were just given our first glimpse at Annable as Reign…

Supergirl: Bridges to Burn

Hey there, Couch Clubbers. Meg here, back again in National City and, man oh man, talk about an emotional week for Supergirl.

I hope you don’t mind, but I’m actually going to do things a little bit differently this week. To start things off, let me tell you a little about myself.

Supergirl: Don't Panic!

Hey, hey! I’m the Couch Club writer for Arrow, but I was asked to write for this week’s episode of Supergirl.

I was a little nervous coming into tonight’s episode because my only exposure to the show was during the crossover event and I know it has a pretty big following. So, I didn’t know if I was going to totally get everything going on in terms of characters, storyline, etc. However…I lucked out!

Supergirl: Kara Danvers and the Art of the Identity Crisis

Hey, guys! Meg, here. Hope you don’t mind me stepping in like this—I know I’m not your usual Supergirl Couch Club representative. I guess you could say I’m a tourist in National City this season, but I’m really excited to be here... Even though it looks like I’ve picked a pretty rough time to drop by. I mean, we’re jumping right into one seriously bummed out Girl of Steel this time around, aren’t we?

The #DCTV Couch Club is Back!

Clear some space on your DVRs and pop some popcorn, #DCTV is back with a vengeance this week as The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow all return. The CW’s shared DC Universe left us with cliffhangers galore at the end of last season, and we’re dying for some answers. Will Barry Allen escape from the Speed Force? Which members of Team Arrow survived that explosion? And what the heck did the Legends do to time?

Of course, we know the real question that’s been keeping all of you up nights: Is the Couch Club going to return?
