While Robin has been a longtime staple of DC comic books, animation and video games, it’s been a while since we’ve seen a live action take on him. In fact, you’d have to go back to 1997’s Batman and Robin for the last time we’ve seen the Boy Wonder onscreen (that is, unless you count Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s character in The Dark Knight Rises).
Pardon our excitement, but this new Titans casting announcement has got us pretty fired up.
“When I look at you, I see the story in your eeeeyes…”
If that line has you scratching your head, then you have yet to be exposed to the greatest pop song in the known universe (at least according to Cyborg). We are, of course, talking about “The Night Begins to Shine” by B.E.R., a slice of ’80s-inspired electro-soul that is extremely well known to fans of Teen Titans Go!
Invaders from the Dark Multiverse Attack Earth, Giving Rise to The ‘Gotham Resistance’
BURBANK, CA (June 16, 2017) – Evil versions of the Dark Knight are coming to terrorize Earth this September, as DC teased early details on a series of seven one-shot comics that tie into the upcoming DARK NIGHTS: METAL event. Each one-shot story spotlights a different, corrupted version of Batman spawned from the Dark Multiverse to wreak havoc on Earth.
When I wrote my recent review of TITANS VOL. 1, I disclosed at the beginning of that piece that I have a deep abiding love for the Teen Titans that has existed since I was a young child. The first comic I bought on my own was NEW TEEN TITANS #39 which features the classic Teen Titans team and still has Terra on the team masquerading as an ally to the rest of her peers.
Every superhero or super team in the DCU has a story or two that define who or what they are at their core—their very own DARK KNIGHT RETURNS, if you will—and for the Teen Titans, that story is THE JUDAS CONTRACT.
Full disclosure before I get started: I love the Teen Titans and all of their extensions beyond reason. The first comic book I ever bought on my own with my own money (okay, it was a quarter from my father), was THE NEW TEEN TITANS #39.
The month of March is upon us. While there are many activities that you could enjoy in this springtime month, may I suggest picking up a graphic novel or two?
DC has released some really great collections this month and I’m back again to suggest which graphic novels you should pick up at your local comic book shop. Also, there’s a theme this month! See if you can guess it.
