We Can Be Heroes Reaches $100,000 Crowdfunding Goal

On April 2, We Can Be Heroes set an initial goal challenging fans to raise $50,000 to fight the hunger crisis in the Horn of Africa.  Three days later, empowered to ‘do good’ like their heroes, our fans met and exceeded that target-- so we increased the goal to $100,000.

Last year, DC Entertainment launched the We Can Be Heroes campaign, dedicated to raising $2 million dollars over the course of two years in order to aid the 8 million lives affected by the hunger crisis in the Horn of Africa.

We are thrilled to say that we met that goal in the first year alone—all thanks to the amazing generosity of the creative community and fans like you. So, a big, heart-felt “Thank you” to everyone who has already donated and helped to improve the lives of millions of starving men, women and children.

Diamond Comics Distributors announced the winners of their 2012 Diamond Gem Awards, and we are pleased to report that for the fourth year in a row, DC Entertainment has been named Diamond Gem Publisher of the Year!

Designed to recognize “quality, creativity, and overall sales impact” of the publishers and their individual products, the Gem Awards are nominated by Diamond professionals, and voted on by comic book retailers around the world.
