“Enter Flash Time” starts out the episode building on a concept that was introduced into The Flash television show during “The Trial of the Flash” arc.
As we inch ever closer to year three of Rebirth, it's becoming more important than ever to look back at the mysteries swirling around at the heart of things, whether you're preparing yourself for the future (DOOMSDAY CLOCK, anyone?) or just trying to keep tabs on the status quo shifts in your favorite characters.
Welcome back, loyal Couch Clubbers! It’s so long that we’ve been away from each other and I hope that, like me, you are thrilled that The Flash (and everything #DCTV), is back on the air. At the end of the previous season, we saw Barry Allen facing down against his greatest speedster foe to date, Savitar (a.k.a. evil future Barry Allen!), and sacrificing himself to the Speed Force in order to protect Wally West, Jay Garrick and the rest of the heroes from Team Flash.
One of many things that sets The Flash apart is their annual holiday episode. Every December they have a seasonal episode (and it seems like Supergirl may be following in The Flash’s footsteps with their recent Thanksgiving episode). The holiday episode always celebrates the familial bonds that run so strong throughout the show and tonight’s midseason finale, “The Present,” was no exception.
Adapting an established comic book character for the small screen is challenging enough, so what’s it like adapting an entire world of them? Difficult, but if tonight’s new episode of The Flash is any indication, it’s also a crazy amount of fun.
