In less than two weeks, legendary writer Neil Gaiman returns to THE SANDMAN, the series that changed the landscape of modern comics twenty-five years ago.

THE SANDMAN: OVERTURE #1 is the first chapter of a 6-issue limited, bimonthly series that explores (amongst much more) just what happened to Morpheus before he was captured in THE SANDMAN #1. Illustrated by J.H. Williams III, this highly anticipated inaugural issue lands in stores on October 30.

But if you need something to hold you over until then, take a look at COMIC BOOK RESOURCES' exclusive reveal of a new variant cover for THE SANDMAN: OVERTURE #1 by DC Entertainment Co-Publisher and prolific artist Jim Lee (SUPERMAN UNCHAINED; JUSTICE LEAGUE).

Featuring a black-and-white interpretation of Morpheus, Lee’s Comic Book Legal Defense Fund-branded variant cover will be available exclusively to retailers who join the CBLDF during the current membership drive, and quantities are based on the individual membership pledges.

“It's hard to believe it's been almost ten years since Neil Gaiman wrote to me about supporting the CBLDF,” Lee, also a member of the CBLDF, stated in a press release. “I'm thrilled to be able to collaborate with Neil on this 'Sandman' cover as a way to say thank you to all the retailers who are joining the Fund this month.”

Head on over to COMIC BOOK RESOURCES to check out Lee’s variant cover and be sure to pick up THE SANDMAN: OVERTURE #1 when it arrives in stores at the end of the month!
