Justice arrives this week in a big way. A huge way. A way that will have you seeing, um, triple. This Wednesday will see three brand new Justice League comics arrive in stores, ensuring that for fans of high-stakes, large-scale sequential storytelling, the holidays have arrived a little early this year.
(Which means you now have the perfect excuse to get started on the egg nog, if you’ve been eyeing it the way that we have. Go on! Indulge in its creamy goodness! Wait…what were we talking about? Oh yeah, Justice League.)
Both Justice League and Justice League of America continue crossing over with Forever Evil and getting to the bottom of just what actually happened to the two Justice Leagues. They don’t seem to be dead. They just seem to be really, really confused. Looks like it’ll come down to Stargirl, the youngest member of either League, to rescue the whole bunch of ‘em. But if you think she’s feeling the stress, what about Nightwing? First he was captured and unmasked in front of the entire world, and now it looks like he’ll have to take on none other than…
Well, the cover to this week’s JUSTICE LEAGUE #25 makes it painfully clear.
But as great as those two issues sound, the real treat for Justice League fans this week are the twenty pages that comprise the first issue of Justice League 3000, the brand new comic set far in the future of the DC Universe and showing us that well after the League sorts out the Crime Syndicate (along with Darkseid, Lex Luthor, whatever the heck Orm’s getting up to in Aquaman, and everything else currently brewing in the DCU) they can look forward to…more threats to the world and universe. Justice League 3000 is written by the Larfleeze team of Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis and drawn by Howard Porter, whom you can see talking about the series in this week’s episode of “DC All Access.” In short, it’s a must-read for fans of the Justice League and futuristic super heroics. And if you’re not fans of those, we’re not sure why you’re here.
