Meet the Stars of the All-New Green Lantern Series

By Albert Ching Tuesday, April 6th, 2021

A new Green Lantern series arrives today from writer Geoffrey Thorne and artist Dexter Soy, bringing the Green Lantern Corps into DC’s Infinite Frontier era. The start of this volume sees the newly formed United Planets and the Guardians of the Universe holding a summit in the name of peace throughout the galaxy—and, well, good luck with that.

The new Green Lantern stars long-running Lantern John Stewart, Keli Quintela (aka Teen Lantern from the pages of Young Justice) and, starting in issue #2, Far Sector star Sojourner “Jo” Mullein. As John steps into the role of ambassador, Jo arrives to use her detective skills to find out why the Central Power Battery exploded. And Teen Lantern? She just happens to have one of the most powerful and unstable weapons in existence. But what does that mean for the Green Lantern Corps…and the universe?

With the first issue now on sale, Thorne shared his insight with DC Nation on what’s at stake for each of Green Lantern’s main characters.

John Stewart

“This is the guy you see all the time and think you know, but have never had a real talk with about anything. He is a ruthless opponent and what I'm calling a complex, foundational thinker. The guy who sees the angles, how they fit together to form strength points to build on or stress points to exploit.”

Keli Quintela

“What kind of maniac gives the most powerful weapon in the galaxy to an 11-year-old child? What kind of 11-year-old decides to use that weapon to help and defend people she doesn't know? And to have lots of fun?”

Jo Mullein

“The only detective unravelling a crime in a warzone where she knows none of the players and has no one she can trust for back-up. So, for Jo, just another day at work. Except this time the crime scene is Oa and the victims are... Heh, heh, heh.”

Green Lantern #1 by Geoffrey Thorne, Dexter Soy, Marco Santucci, Alex Sinclair and Rob Leigh is now available in print and as a digital comic book.
