This Week on DC UNIVERSE INFINITE: A New Sweet Tooth Saga...

By Albert Ching Tuesday, May 11th, 2021

On DC UNIVERSE INFINITE, there are comics being added and fun community events taking place each and every week. In this series of roundups, we let you know what's new and worth your attention.

Happy Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! DC is celebrating the occasion throughout May—including with the new DC Festival of Heroes: The Asian Superhero Celebration anthology on sale now, a series of profiles and articles spotlighting DC’s AAPI characters and creators on DCComics.com, and new collections added weekly on DC UNIERSE INFINITE. Of course, we’ve also got our regular weekly additions and highlights from the DC Community. Read on for the latest.

DC Digital First Comics

Prolific comics creator Colleen Doran—whose DC credits include Wonder Woman, Sandman and Legion of Super-Heroes—joins Sensational Wonder Woman to write and illustrate a one-part story titled “Man's World Momager,” where it’s Diana versus perhaps her most fearsome foe yet: a horribly persistent marketing professional! Brandon Easton and Jahnoy Lindsay’s Superman story continues in Truth & Justice #5 and Represent! #3 sees writer Regine Sawyer team with artist Eric Battle for “Food for Thought,” the story of a girl named Lanice and the bond she shares with her father in the kitchen…and the concern he has for her.

Truth & Justice #5 – 5/12/20210
Sensational Wonder Woman #5 – 5/13/2021
Represent! #3 – 5/14/2021

New Comics

Writer and artist Jeff Lemire returns to the world of Sweet Tooth with Sweet Tooth: The Return, a bold reimagining of the Sweet Tooth mythology that takes elements of the original series and remixes them into something familiar, but totally new. The first issue of the DC Black Label series debuts on DC UNIVERSE INFINITE this week (and don’t forget to watch the comics-to-screen featurette taking you behind the scenes of the Sweet Tooth Netflix series, debuting June 4). While you’re visiting strange worlds, return to the Dark Multiverse in Tales from the Dark Multiverse: Batman: Hush #1, the first in a second wave of one-shots that present a Dark Multiverse twist on DC’s most famous storylines. This time, current Superman and Action Comics writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Green Lantern artist Dexter Soy put a tragic spin on “Hush,” the 2002-2003 Batman story that introduced Tommy Elliot to the Dark Knight’s rogues gallery. And speaking of “strange”—go in-depth with Tom King, Mitch Gerads and Evan “Doc” Shaner’s Strange Adventures with the Strange Adventures Director's Cut #1, featuring Gerads and Shaner’s black-and-white art from the issue interlaced with King’s script.

Batman #102

Pillars of the Community

The next installment of the DC Book Club is upon us! Head on over to the latest discussion of Superman Smashes the Klan by Gene Luen Yang and Gurihiru to explore the contrast of Superman's origins and the Asian-American experience. We'll be diving in with Gene Luen Yang himself in a Q&A on May 18, so be sure to catch up this week to join in!

Voting closes for the latest round of, well, Round Robin this week, but if you didn't get a chance to cast your votes, don't despair! We'll launch another round exclusively in the DC Community in a few short weeks. In the meantime, check out all the sneak peeks and join in our spirited debate.

Anytime is a good time for horror in the DC Community! That's why we're already starting the countdown to the brand-new imprint, DC HORROR, debuting on June 1. Join us in our tick-tock anticipation as we share variant covers, interviews and any other sneak peeks we can get our grubby hands on until the big day arrives!
